Hi there,
I am newly emigrated to the costa blanca and have telefonica adsl installed in our rental villa - courtesy of our landlord who got it all set up before we moved in, but has now left the country and is barely contactable (and its not really his specialist subject anyway).
The adsl is fine BUT I have recently confirmed that I MUST have a static ip address to access my corporate communications in the UK… and I have no idea how to go about it, because my Spanish simply isn’t up to the job at this stage. I have managed to find people at Telefonica who seem to know what I need, and others who speak English, but neither who can do both..! I just want to be absolutely clear, I have chosen to relocate to Spain and am committed to communicating effectively in Spanish in due course, and I don’t expect to have everything translated or available in English etc - I think its brilliant that they have any support in English at all. But I am really stuck on this one issue and can’t afford to just leave it until I am fluent!
I am completely stumped as to how to progress this. I know I currently have a dynamic ip and definitely require a fixed/static one, also I know that Telefonica can provide one… I am just at a loss re how to communicate it to them! Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/offers of help? Can anyone recommend a translator who could - I don’t know pop round and make the call for me? Of course I am happy to pay for a professional service just dont know where to start looking! We’re in Javea btw,
Yours, not quite raging yet but definitely getting a teensy bit wound up..!
