I would appreciate some help, as a newbie to this forum with connecting my ADSL wireless router.  I used this in England and was connected by Wanadoo service provider and had no problems.  It is asking for username and password and I don’t know how to access this as I have no info from Iberbanda.  We have only just been connected up and didn’t think I needed to ask the engineer anything about this… Doh!!

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I really need to sit near the fire with my laptop cos it’s freezing here in Granada!!!!

i assume you have a beige box plugged to the antenna via an ethernet cable (RJ45). if that`s the case you should just plug your router into that and all should work right away. for this to work you might have to reset your wanadooo router first as it may well be asking for password and username from your old account which won`t work with iberbanda. what kit have iberbanda given you exactly ?

very many thanks en campo and jurdyr, I have since had a local guy give me some advice.  He said I couldn’t use the D-Link as it included a modem and Iberbanda set up obviously includes a modem., so there was a conflict.  He has fitted an accesspoint box which apparently is compatible with Iberbanda.

All’s well now and I can sit by the fire with the laptop….even though it has warmed up slightly here!!!!

Once again, thanks for your offerings.

Right, with a dsl router you can’t use it with iberbanda, you need a wan router (ALmost the same as dsl router but doesn’t include the DSL modem). An accesspoint will do the job too, but the best if you’re going to connect more than one device is a wireless router. Model like linksys wrt54 is excellent.
