This for those with contracted mobiles….we run a business and use the mobiles more than the land line as we are out of the office a lot. Through history and fate I have Orange (ex Amena) and my partner has Movistar (telefonica). She decided (as Movistar are very mean in handing out new mobiles) to cancel the contract and move to join me at Orange. Then she had a call from Movistar offering ANY phone and 50% discounted invoices for 18 months!! Well to be honest it would have been nice to tell Movistar to put their offfer where the sun dont shine but as it was worth around 2,500 euros you have to live in the real world and say Yes. Bottom line? - if you have the time and inclination try changing your provider (you get to keep the same number) and see what they offer.
Good luck. Keep us posted!

Hey Rob,

Good call. With the money you saved maybe you can pick up a pay as you go Orange phone for all those times when Movistar drives you nuts.

It’s the same back home though too; those customer retention teams are authorized to give crazy discounts and offers. Good suggestion to keep in mind though!

If your looking for a cheap way to make calls to the uk then o2uk have a great deal on pay monthly (contract)
On top of your standard tariff eg 25.00 a month, you pay an extra 5.00. This gets you flat rate anytime time any network calls back to the uk for 25p per a min and (this is the best part) Its FREE to answer your phone !!!
So as long as you get people to call you its just the same for yourself and the caller as it would be if you were both back at home !!!!
If your are already with o2 and on a contract, Just give them a call a they will sort it for you.
