Hello!! I moved to Nerja just over a year ago now, with my baby girl who is now 20 months. Originally from Scotland, it has been a definate culture shock, but certainly one for the better!! We both love where we are and now that we have finally sorted out legal documents and such like, are now looking to concentrate on making friends and making this home for us.

Would love to hear from anyone, living in and around nearby areas.

Catch you later

Hi Lola,

We’re nowhere near, over in the Costa Blanca, but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum and well done for making the move on your own with a baby - that was a huge step to take but I think this is a much better place than the UK for raising kids - ours love it anyway,

all the best,

Maya

Hey Maya,

Thanks for the message. I am fortunate enough to have my immediate family with me, my mum, dad and sister. They live upstairs from me. So not entirely on my own, but am loving every minute of it, even the weird and wonderful array of bugs and flying beasties!! Well actually, that a fib, cos I hate anything that buzzes round your head!!! Cue the newspaper or dog, whatever is closest!!

Just about to open my own business in town too, so although pretty scary, it’s also very exciting. Something I would never even have contemplated back in Scotland, but you only live once right and the people here are so much more sociable. Maybe that has something to do with the schooling.

Hope to speak to you soon.
