Dear All,

Can somebody tell me how much would be the fee for having a non-resident bank account and for resident bank account, respectively..? (Speaking for EU citizens)
And once I obtained a NIE, do I automatically became a resident and if not what shall I do to become a resident and change it to a resident account..?
What are the limits to have a non-resident bank account, compare to a resident one..?

Please, if someone has already been through or has an information, let me know..

Thanks in advance..😊

Depends on bank. Non resident accounts can be free to about 10 euros per month. Same for residents accounts. You need to go into bank with residencia (Green A4 piece of paper that replaced the residents’ card for EU citizens) to make your account one for a resident. If you are non resident it can also cost 15 to 20 euros per year for the certificate of non residence that the banks (most of them do it for you) have to send to the powers that be to say you are non resident. Possessing an NIE does not make you a resident - you have to live here. If you do live here and have for 6 months you become a resident and should register as such.
