I have been a member on this site for many months now and answered may quesitons regarding satellite TV in the Technology section (along with Jurdy!) and I have only just found this section!!!!! So I though I would post here.

Satellite and Digital Terrestrial TV Installations and Maintenance for the Costa Blanca / Azahar from Calpe to Valencia and Inland.

We supply and install satellite dishes (from 80cm to 3.1m), receiver (Sky, Freesat, High Definition), Digital Terrestrial (TDT - Spanish Freeview) aerials, amplifiers and receivers.

We also perform servicing on your exisiting systems, including realignments, to ensure your system is working correctly and you are getting the maximum signal from your satellite dish.

We install for individual homes and villas, communities, and bars.

Many channels, like BBC and ITV - but you need a “big dish”, are available for free with NO monthly subscription, and over 150 channels can be received on an 80cm dish.

Be cautious of companies offering ITV on a small dish as it is unclear for how long this will be available for.

We install systems for other European language channels, including BBC Prime, and the popular “Nilesat and Arabsat” free TV channels.

We also install TV aerial, amplifers and receivers for TDT - Spains version of Freeview - around 30 digital Spanish TV channels for free via a TV Aerial. Many programems allow you to change the language into English!

If you are in his area I can thoroughly recommend John (The Sat and PC Guy) his services and the information and advice on his website. He answers questions in an easy manner and very honestly. And he managed to get me many channels on my motorised dish system where many others had failed!

for a guy that run a very good comapny , helps out people via a website and explan eveythink , many add is still here in spain , i would hightly recommend John aswell . there cowboys and girls out there and he no off them ... his work is to hightest i see , still have meet the man yet . as durnk guy at the bar sad one night . i down to fix you broken pie later , now pools is in doors Ha

I am good ( :coolsmile: ) but not a mug !!!

I live in Quesada and wondered if you know anyone (legal) who could install UK TV. for me. I seem to be surrounded by
persons with illegal systems , say no more. I have satellite connection for my telephone and broadband and this is not so hot.
I could mention the name of the company but I keep giving them second chances to improve.
So on this ocassion I wish to have a respectable company to give me a quote for installation of TV.
I have tried the internet suppliers but because of our bad connection via satellite the screen keeps buffering.
I am not a person who watches a lot of TV ,Soaps etc :- but I do miss a good play or film and Documentaries.
Can you give me some help on this matter.

What options are given to you buy opting for the motorized dish ?

with a motorised dish you have access to many satellites, however, many of the channels not in english, and even not for free.
it is a good idea if you like tinkering and seeing whats on, or if you do not want a second dish and want UK TV (Astra 2) and Arabsat (26) for the MBCs (arabian free channels mostly in english with arabic subtitles!). It may also be of use in the next few months when the rumoured Spanish version of Freesat get the go ahead (ie TDT channels on satellite for areas that cannot get a TDT signal) - which is expected to be on Astra 1 and or Hispsat.

The were used a few years ago when subscription packages coul be “opened”, and so you had access to alot of sports and movie channels which were on other satellites (Astra1 and Hotbird) “for free” but at the moment most pay packages have moved onto more secure encryption.

In Simons case he has a limited space and it did not look nice with two dishes, so he opted for a motor so he could access UK TV and MBCs. His original installer spent “days” on trying to get the system to work, never got it to work correctly. I popped around, realigned everything, and (hopefully - as I have not heard anything to the contrary!) all has been working OK since.

Sounds good.

I just checked out MBC’s web listings and they got all the American shows going on I watch also.
Having the motor option to move over to the UK sounds top banana too.

Sat - D’u do La Marina Urb in the CB then ?

Sorry, I dont cover as far south as where I think you are….try the company i mentioned a few posts above - or even a2sat.com.
Ideally something like a 1m dish and a motor would be required….around 150-250plus euros installed.
and you would need a receiver capable of driving a motor, and that has a good tuner - around 100 euros
you cannot use a sky receiver with a motor.
the motor has to be installed on a south facing wall as the motor has to be aligned to due south…something to make sure of first.
