Hi,
Thanks for the great site.

My boyfriend (dual citizenship - Argentina and Spain) has moved to Spain about a month ago. I’m in the process of getting tourist visa to enter Spain (I’m a russian citizen).  I will have only a 3 months valid visa, we plan to apply for marriage thing as soon as I arrive.
He’s got his partido de nacimiento.  So have I, translated with apostile system… Along with police reference.  Thats what we’ve heard we’ll need so far.

There will be some kind of interview to check legitimacy of our relationship, that shouldnt be a problem -  we’ve been together for more than a year living in Argentina.

The question is - once applied, we’ll have to wait for a certain amount of time. Probably few months as I’ve read. My 3 months visa will expire by that time. Will that be a problem once we’ll have our date for the interview, marriage date, etc. and I’ll be “illegal” by that time??
Once married - what kind of paper do I get… And how long does it take to actually get a Spanish passport? That would allow us to travel without problems (Yes, lots of yo udont know what its like to be stressed about visas before having vacations).

Any experience? And how long does it usually take in Barcelona, from application to actually getting it done.

Thank you. Any links would be appreciated. Supposedly its all exactly the same as for man-woman marriage, right?

Just read a page about marriage. A proof that I havent been married before - will I have to ask for it in my country’s Consulate?

Marrige takes about 6 months, the judge doing the interview could refuse to marry you if ilegal, aslo see “Convenience marriges”, be carefull because if period expires you will be obliged to process the Visa from your home country’s consulate.

You will get your NIE card and need many years of continuous and legal residency to obtain nationality.

Well, that’s what you take vacations for to get rid of stress, anyways when you will be back the stress is how to pay the Credit cards and the vacations!!!

It is long, very looooonnnnggggg… 6/8 months.
