I think its 6mb package.
We got rid of the Canguru firewall and anti-virus and eveything is so much better now.

I know people with a 6mb line that are pulling 500-900kb/s though.
Your speed results seem like it is a 3mb line.

I always like using the link below. It’s for an HP printer driver,40mb file. The site allows you to pull as much as you can.
IE: 1mb you should see 86+KB/s, 2mb 180KB/s +, 6mb 500KB/s +++

Try it out and let us know the results.

I really prefer to use this form of line test as it fully loads your line, as oppose to a bit test for a quick particular time.
We have all done the online tests, and then seconds later do it again only to get a real different set of numbers.

If the person is doing a ping test at 2.5mb for a “6 meg line” then either he’s suffering from some other issue - or he is paying for a “6 meg” line and actually getting “3 meg” results.

I much prefer doing a download test like the above link I gave as this really shows a load on the line - ping tests I cant stand.
Click refresh two or three times and you’ll see. I DO understand that lines themselves fluxuate, which is why a download test is a better bench test.

Like I was saying, I know people with a 6meg line that pull on the above link anywhere from 5/600kb/s up to 900kb/s in Spain.
Now that is more like it !!!

2.5meg ping for a 6meg is not right one little bit.

One of the reasons I normally ask for the router info is because there you can see the real connection/negotiation speed and other issues like line noise which also are important for the connection.

(in this cases if you need to upload lots of mb then look better at simetrical connections,as normal DSL provide 320 kb upload, and it would take ages to upload 4 gb!!)

It pays to get someone who speaks Spanish to liaise with telefonica for you. we had a really sluggish ADSL set up. The next day after getting a friend to call them we had the guy come round and he rewired us in the street and indoors, provided a new box and set us up with 3 megs….which ois what we had been pating for and only getting a fraction of that. He came 4 times till he was satidfied that it was all OK, and we are pleased with the result.
Telefonica have good and bad reports, but they are mainly in control over here!

Someone that speaks the country’s native language is always a big plus. Imagine the same situation someone who goes to your country and doesn’t speak it’s language, he will get the same limits you`re finding here.

don’t mix apples with pears, one thing is broadband and other a voip service.

voip can be contracted almost anywhere where you have broadband, and prices depend normally about the pack you contract. (Some include flat rate to local phones of different country, almost cheap calls to mobile, and most include free calls to other customers of the same company). A good tip before buying/renting, check your destinations, sometimes what you save on calls to local phones you will expend it with calls to mobile.
