he is Spanish and, therefore, explains it simply in spanish as calle I know is street, urb being urbanisation….i haven’t got a clue about eranc and I assume cristal is the name of the street…....no postcode and that is what is confusing me. I know it is La Nucia, Alicante, but that’s all I have from oiut conversationa…..he doesn’t do email either which makes it all the more difficult as I have to listen extremely carefully and he speaks so fast…...

what can you say there then….

Trust me knowing the postcode will make very very little difference

they work differently here and can apply to many Kms squared - and may 1000s of houses!

I would say that it was Calle Eranc - I know when I write my address I write C/ and then the road name.  Could it be that Cristal is the name of his house as he?s put no house number on there which is a bit strange!  I expect La Nucia is the area of Alicante.  I?ve had a quick look on the “Correos” (Spanish postal service) website and I think the post code is 03530.  I put in the road name as Eranc and the “localidad” as La Nucia and it came up as: Panorama (La Nucia), Alicante, 03530.  Hope that helps and hope you find your way!!

Addresses can be difficult in Spain.

Especially since maps arn`t easy to find beyond tourist leaflets.

Try this although the address you gave is not recognised, if you can get the post code Mappy works off them.

http://es.mappy.com/

Many addresses are complicated and confusing, it may not be known until you get a taxi, but that may prove unwise and costly.

Many Urbs can be apt blocks in cities, some are large Estates, they vary a lot.

I couldn`t find any area in Alicante called La Nucia on mappy, only a calle La Nucia.

But putting into google La Nucia gives these details.

http://www.bancajahabitat.co.uk/information/tourist-information-la-nucia.aspx

So I went further and found this

http://www.paginasamarillas.es/fichas/ig/mega-pc_198154775_000000001.html

There address is Urb Cristal 33, La Nucia and gives a postal code of 03530, so not too far from your friend, maybe worth a phone call.

Mappy shows La Nucia now from the postcode, but no Urb Cristal.
