Hi, I want to do an exchange for next year.  I am going to be in my third year of University.  I live in Canada but I am a citizen of the UK.  I am studying Global Culture Studies and Spanish as my majors.  I want to work in Spain this coming summer so that I can get accustomed and improve my spanish as much as possible.  I’m not sure how this will work considering i am a perminant resident of Canada but a citizen of England. Will this effect my University fees or my eligibility for a job?  If possible I want to work in waitressing or bartending, would it be best for me to do this at a tourist resort.  I know I’ve allowed for a lot of time, but I want to be pretty prepared.  If anyone has any advice that would be amazing. Thanks!!

Times are very very hard at the moment, I would try to arrange something before arriving, you might get lucky and find someone one here that needs staff.

If you have an English passport, I think you can travel without any problems, getting work and / or NIE is a different story, try emailing the british consulate in Spain, http://ukinspain.fco.gov.uk/en/our-offices-in-spain/contact-us/
