Hi, Just asking if there are any members who live in the Malaga area &/or who have any experience of ordering original Renault spare parts locally or otherwise. (New ok!). The new tighter ITV laws stipulate the airbag system should be fully functioning. The second hand clio I bought 2 yrs ago has passed each time, despite this not working (the light in the dashboard did not even come on it would appear - have since found out the crook who sold it to me rebuilt the car after a crash and knew the system was faulty and removed the bulb!). I now have to fork out for a new EPU (or computer) for the airbag system. (The diagnostic showed this was faulty, plus possibly the actual airbag too! - Holding my breath if we fix one, the other will be OK - but of course no guarantee!).
I have been told by my mechanic (who is usually really really good) that he has had the part on order for over three weeks. I am getting desperate as the car has now been with him 6 weeks and we seem to be getting no where fast.
I have sent an email to customer services at Renault Madrid, but need to get this sorted asap!
The mechanic says he has ordered it from Renault in Malaga - but his hands are tied.
Anyone got any alternative sources/ideas?

ps - model Mark II clio (1.9D) 1998 (I have been told there are two types of EPU for this car - so not expecting miracles.. Just a little leg up 😉
ps - I did think of taking the car to the local Renault dealer - but they will give no guarantees they can get the part quicker/plus their phone estimate is already 30% dearer. Arrgghh!
