:coolsmile: Visiting this area in a couple of weeks with the view
to relocate and wondered if there are any clubs we could contact or visit to be able to
speak to some locals.

I’ve lived in the area since 2008 and am a big fan.  I don’t know of any societies or clubs really but the bars of Duquesa Marina and the two or three pubs in Sabinillas are where a lot of locals congregate.  There is a very active Manilva Life forum.

Can you tell me the names of the pubs in Sabanillas so that we may visit them and perhaps meet some locals?

If you go down to the seafront on Sabinillas and travel down the last road before the seafront you will see Fathoms, Graingers and (just off the road to the north) O’Callaghans.  I’m not saying they are that great but there will be locals. The Marina is great - we had a couple of holidays there before moving to the area; very good social, bar, restaurant scene.
On 21/22 Feb it is the local carnival which is good - fancy dress, fair, music etc and a giant free paella in the fair ground.

I shall certainly make it a port of call within a couple of days of getting there.
I get there on Feb 28th to scout the area for a couple of weeks. I’m certainly up for a coffee. Be great to meet someone who has moved to the area. Give me a couple of early evening dates and hopefully we can meet.

Don’t know how old you are or what you expect out of a ‘club’ but 5 mins up the coast towards Estepona there is the ICE club - The International Club of Estepona.  Last time I was there the age group was, um, that expected of retired people I suppose.  Don’t know if that fits the bill…..

My wife and I are in are low 50’s..
So I suppose 10 years give or take, we can mix well with.

Same age as me and mine!!  Try ICE.  The last time I was there was a few years ago.  Nice people with loads of info about the area but I did feel a little younger than them.  The other replies given about the pubs and bars in Sabinillas/Duquesa Port were good.  Try lots of places - you’ll get different impressions from every different place you go.  Enjoy.
