Hi All

We looked into moving a few years ago with inspection flights etc but was hearded with the masses to the Torrevejeca area. We hired a car instead and explored the area and prefered the north area around javea etc and so will be looking to move around there.
We have two daughters aged 8 & 6 so schools info would be great (looked at NABBS) but would love to hear from similar families that maybe use the state system (pros cons etc) We ourselves are in our mid thirties, We were wondering what the ex pat community is like in this area or is everyone retired??
Also Need advice on real estate agents and mortgage companys to go through aswell please (Is it best to rent first before making the plunge into buying??). And are we realistic in thinking this can be done by the end of the year?

We are wanting to come to the area in march to investigate more so any guides or help/ accomodation then would be great also.

Your experineces and advice will be greatly appreciated and look forward to your replies.

Thanks

Carl & Andrea

Hello Carl and Andrea
I just saw your post, we have just purchased a property in Javea, it wasn’t planned as such but we spent a holiday there and really liked the place !
There are many estate agents in the area but I would like to recommend the one that we have used which is Crown Properties, they obviously have a website that you can google, we have other friends who have bought through them as well. It is an established business and the owner is from the area and completely fluent in English. He helped us to open bank accounts and to get our nie numbers as well so I really advise you to check out their website.
Good luck with everything !

Javea is a lovely area, and your timescales seem realistic, we moved at the end of 2008 and it worked quite well - got settled in in time for school term in January.  I wouldnt recommend driving all your wordly goods through the frozen pyrenees in December but apart from minor practical things like that it all worked out fine!  Anything you need to know just ask,

Maya
