Your web hosting provider?

I apologize for the possible off-topic. Guys, could you tell me which web hosting company you are using at the moment? I have a problem because my current web hosting company hostrator.com is kicking me off. They say that our website is using too many server resources. But our website only gets 300 visitors per day..

Anyway, what would be your recommendations? Are you happy with your web hosting providers?

I am checking http://www.hosting24.com/ at the moment, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space?
I have contacted them and they say something like “1000GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will start running out of disk space we will simply add a new 1000GB drive so can continue uploading..”.

What do you think about it? Any ideas and web hosting company name suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi, what type of website do you have?
If it’s made up of static pages, it shouldn’t be that much of a problem, even for Hostgator.
But if it’s based on some type of Content Management System (CMS), like Wordpress, even 300 or so regular visitors per day will start to eat into your CPU or innodes, the term Hostgator measures resources by.

And if you have many pages/posts your visitors are going to, that will eat up a lot of resources on a CMS.

All shared hosting accounts say they offer ‘unlimited everything’ but they never do.
If your website is worth something to you, you really need to consider at least a VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting package, which has less users per server.
But you need to check around first as prices for VPS (and dedicated) vary a great deal.

As to Hosting24, as far as I can tell, they are just another shared hosting company which says they offer unlimited everything, but when it comes down to it, they probably don’t.

Here’s a link you may find useful:
http://www.hostingsthatsuck.com/hosting24-sucks/

It may or may not be accurate.

Whenever you are looking for a webhost, if you type in ‘webhost name sucks’ in Google, it should help you find out a bit more.

Hope that helps.

We use Rackspace Cloud hosting. They’re pretty good but they also measure CPU cycles. We’re running a fairly heft CMS as well and, once we took out template tracking, our cycle usage is about 50% per month on about 4000 visitors per day.

As a web consulting company we also use a few other hosts that I’d recommend: try Media Temple for great VPS hosting (starting at $50/month with full root access!) and/or Dreamhost, with their PS service will allow you to pay-as-you-go.
