I know its May bank hoilday this weekend coming, but would anyone know if the shops will be open on the Friday? From previous experience I know sometimes if the hoilday falls on the weekend they take an extra day before or maybe the Monday after!

Friday is a bank holiday, called San Jose Obrero, or Saint Joeph the worker.

Thanks, we had better make sure we do out shopping on Thursday then! I usually end up being caught out and having to eat out for a few days hehe and as I am planning on a BBQ I need to get a shifty on 😊

Sunday’s I used to get caught all the time, luckily Opencor was in town and open, pricey but always busy.

LOL, silly because I have lived here for 11 years and still never think about bank holidays!

At least one advantage for those of us living in touristy coastal resort - there’s always an overpriced british minimart open on sundays and fiesta days, for essentials!

Depends where you live; I know that Iceland in Fuengirola is open on Friday and some of the bigger Spanish supermarkets in that area are too but smaller village shops will close.
