Does anyone know if or how it is possible to get a restaurant to stop using a classic “bate and switch” scamp? There is a restaurant here in Barcelona that advertises a 2 for 1 big time at the door, and then after you get the check they explains how you need to be standing on one foot with your hand up your ass on the moon at the time of an eclipse to qualify for the deal.

Is there any entity to report them to or is that just another Spanish bureaucracy in and of itself?

Signed,

?foolishly twice burned?

Hi
They’re taking you for a ride.
You need to ask for the “hojas de reclamaci?n”. This is the official complaints form. If they say no, you can call the police to force them to produce them for you. You then fill in the nature of the complaint, and keep the green and white copies. The white one you send, or take to “Consumo”. Usually, just the threat of filling one of these out is bad enough for a restuarant to toe the line.
I will add a section about how to use these to the legal section shortly
