We have a Iberbanda ADSL connection, which also gives us a phone. They cover the Nerja area.
The other plus was it was installed within 3 weeks.

This sounds excellent. I’ve done a quick check on their website and it appears they cover the rural area my parents live in near Loja. They are currently stuck with a Telefonica DOMO radio phone system. They’ve tried dialup with this and it never connects, so they cancelled that. Telefonica were no help whatsoever in offering any alternatives for them to get ADSL broadband internet, saying simply that there is “nothing available at the moment”. (They either forgot or could’nt be bothered that they offer Ambito Rural it seems… so sod them eh!!)
Out of interest, how does the phone system and ADSL work with Iberbanda? Is it all through a dish? Obviously this would be most beneficial for my parents as they have no main line connection. Is it independant of Telefonica or a need to have a Telefonica line?
Cheers,
Heath
