OK thanks, does it matter where you site the router or the wifi gizmo (I have it on an extension cable into the tower) ie high - low…
PS The orange router did not have an antenna, but the new Movistar one does.

Yes it does matter where you site the router.
Wireless signals work fine in open spaces but if they are in different rooms, especially different floors, then the signal can become very weak.
It would be best to site the router away from any other devices that may cause interference.
If you still have problems with the signal then higher powered USB or PCI wireless card can be used.
