Hi,

A couple want to rent my apartment for a year and have offered to pay me the whole year in advance (for a lower price, of course).  I find this hard to believe that it could be genuine.  Could it be a scam?  Also, what paperwork should I request to see if and when we go to sign at the Gestoria?  I was thinking about asking for a copy of their work contract and last 3 wage slips for both of them?  Any advice.  Many Thanks.

If they are paying for the year in advance what does it matter about their wage slips? Have the rental contract professionally drawn up.

Make sure you get them to sign a ‘Temporada’. I.e for 11 months only and temporary.
Renewable yearly.
This gives you protection and guarantees them this rental period is guaranteed.

You don’t have to go to a solicitor to do it.
Just make sure you get a proper Temporada contract tho, and witnessed by someone.
