I have had a bar on the costa for 3 years,i sold that and for the last 2 years been selling and leasing bars and businesses on the costa dell sol
I find it absolutely amazing, the number of expats who buy or lease a business without going into all details.
only to end with high debts, fines, incorrect licences, even closure of there business.mainly because they listen to fred in the local bar.
I URGE any expats who is looking for a bar or business.DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Do not trust every accountant you meet, have seen lots of businesses go down the drain, due to currupt accountants.
Check and double check everything you do.
All-ways make sure you get receipt’s for any payment you make, be it through a bank,a historia,or supplier,
When buying or leasing a business, don’t always trust your friendly agent,
they are there for there commission, not your welfare.
ask what the extra charges are. I.E.taxes.retention,bassura.denouncias.licences, water, electric problems. ALL OF THESE ARE RARELY MENTIONED. and you could end up paying 1000s more than you had budgeted for.

With that in mind HAPPY BUSINESS HUNTING.
HOPE THIS IS HELP-FULL TO FELLOW EXPATS.
Am here if you want help,or want a bar or business.

Hi,  saw on your post that you deal with business.

Im looking at moving on the costa del sol next summer, and want to set up a barbering business…......in your opinion, do you think its best to buy a barber shop. or lease a unit and start from scratch?

also, where on the costa del sol do you think most needs a good english barber?

thanks

Hi,
That is a matter of oppinion, Hairdressers and barbers are 2 a penny on the costa del sol.
most big appartment blocks have hairdressing shops with in the community.
If you are mind set on a barbers shop i would deff find one that is all ready for use.
As allterations to premisses entails more paperwork and different licences, ie. disabaled toilets, doorways, ect ect.
I think you can expect a big surge in prices and lettings next year.so i would think about getting in sooner rather than later.

Hope this has been helpfull to you.
