Wow Santi that video is terrifying!
The area of el chorro is amazing and well worth a visit. The Camino del Rey is being repaired from what I heard when I was around there about a year ago.
11 years ago I walked a section of the Camino del Rey - it was officially closed, but the barrier was not substantial and we went in anyway. We started at the other end - before the bridge that you see at the end of the video Santi linked to. There was no rope, but the holes in the footpath were much smaller and in some places there was even a hand rail on the drop side. Even so it was the scariest thing I think I have ever done and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t a climber and has the right experience and kit.
When its repaired properly I’ll go back and be able to appreciate the scenery!
According to this article (in spanish) there’s a ?6,000 fine for crossing the barriers.

I better take back what I said about crossing the barrier 11 years ago.
