Hi,

I am an Irish citizen, and i moved to Spain 3 years ago. I have a steady job as an IT consultant for a Spanish Firm. This job allows me to work from home. Recently I have had to move back to Ireland for other circumstances, but i continue to work for the Spanish firm. All of my contract details, social security etc.. is linked to my previous address in Spain.

How would a permanent move to Ireland affect my legal position in Spain. I mean my social security number is linked to a previous address where i no longer live.

Is it possible to continue working for the spanish firm, and paying spanish taxes, even though I live in Ireland.???

What are the legal issues that may arise, in my case?

Any help/advice would be great!

Thanks

boonub…hi!

Back on April 30, 2009, Rob1305 provided a link for you regarding taxation in Spain.

You could do worse than to give them a call or an email for advice…

Ryanair are currently experiencing problems re taxation for their Irish employees working in Spain but paying tax to Ireland which seems to be your situation in reverse. Maybe you need to talk to the Irish tax people too!
