Does anyone know if you can obtain a contract with a mobile phone provider without a DNI or NIE number? I have a foreigners bank account with a bank but how can i get a phone with a contract without the DNI/NIE ??? any info?! thx!

To the best of my knowledge its impossible to get any contract service, be it phone, mobile, electric whatever, without an NIE /DNI. Its a government regulation.

Under the rules set forth early last year you may even need an NIE to get a PAYG mobile…Certainly you need a passport and proof of address.

Foxbat is 100% correct. No NIE = no contract of any type.

As far as I know it is not difficult to get an NIE, even if you are non-resident.

Without and NIE you will find it difficult to sign up to any form of contract and I can pretty well guarantee a phone contract is out of the question.
