Hello,
I am hoping for some guidance regarding cell phones/calling plans in Spain.  Mostly, how much should I expect to pay up-front for a good smart-phone, and what sort of monthly bill will I have if I am mostly using text/web with perhaps a small amount of phone minutes?  Are you always required to sign a 2-year contract, as in the US, or are there more flexible plans?

Your best bet would be th check the websites of Movistar.es, vodafone.es and orange.es to check out the deals available.

Pay-As -You-Go services are available form these three providers where no contract is necessary, however you will need proof of address and your passport for identification purposes.
