solar power has any body got it and use it all year round, how does it fair. I understand you can use LPG fridge/freezers and LPG water heaters to reduce the amount of electricity used. please share your experiences thank you.

We would ‘like’ to have solar (esp for hot water), but as we only rent, we are not sure we want to invest at this stage. (Although I know we would be able to take equip with us if it came to it).

My experience of properties I have looked after where it is installed -
Great in summer (when perhaps you don’t need to much hot water/heating!)...
Ok in winter. But def needs elec over ride for ‘cloudy days’.. as it will not bring in enough heat for a large family etc.

Had not thought about it for running electrical items in the house, but I guess that makes sense!
(A ‘truly campo friend’ had 2 x marine batteries and ran everything on 12V. But it did die by midnight and had to wait to be
topped up again next day 😉

If you are interested in some facts and figures and general information please take a look at my website spanishsolar.  You can certainly obtain gas fridges and water heaters.  Alternatively if you are looking for a cheaper alternative than a whole system why not consider solar hot water.
