Hi my names Audrey. Iam hoping to move to Torrevieja July/Aug 2011 with my 9 year old son. I have a few questions and hope someone can help.
firstly iam planning to come over in may to look at schooling etc (state school), is it advisable to register your child then or wait until new term?
secondly, iam a qualified nurse with a masters degree in stroke. i know that it would be diffcult to work within the local hospital as my Spannish is very poor and iam having spannish lessons at present. But any suggestions as to how to find home care nursing within expat community?
many thanks x

Hello Audrey,

Regarding schools, you cannot enrol your son until you are living here, you will need to be registered with your local council in Torrevieja and I beleive that you’ll need a release from his school in the UK (you’ll have to check this though). Regarding work, I’ve no idea what’s available in Alicante, but before you arrive here you should look into getting all your nursing records stamped with the Hague apostliile, which will show that they are genuine UK recognized.  Good luck.
