Hello Experts,

I am an Indian working in Spain on a resident permit. Have completed 6 months. I would like to bring my family ( Wife & children) to Spain. There are two kinds of visas which appear in the application for visa issued by Spanish Embassy in India.

1) Family Re-grouping : Residencia para reagrupaci?n familiar

2) Resident - without work permit : Residencia sin finalidad laboral (no habilita para trabajar)

Which one should i apply for ?

My concerns are as follows :

1) Is it mandatory that i complete one year in Spain to apply visa for my family under family re-grouping .  Some websites talk of that requirement. I have this transnational permit.

2)Is it possible to apply for my family under resident - without work permit category ( if i cannot apply because of my total stay in Spain ). What would be the additional requirements for applying under this category.

Your expert advise would be valuable.

Best regards,
Ganesh

You should apply under the reagrupacion familiar and you need to complete the minimum I year residency requirement. Any other way would difficult, if not imposible.

Hello Leonel,

Thank you for the input. I checked up with the consulate in India . What i understand is that you need to do pay an additional fee towards what they call it as TASA Form if you file before completion of one year. The fee varies from month to month. This month it is some Rs 634 /-

One thing that comes out clearly is that we need to show healthy bank balance , This can be summation of

1) Main resident’s Spanish and Indian bank account
2) Dependant’s local bank account.

Consulate is not very forthcoming to reveal the actual amount officials at Madrid anticipate.

Spanish pay slips will also bolster the proof of employment and capacity to support dependants.

Best regards,
Ganesh
