Hi all,

I am desperately worried as my car is due for its ITV and when I have checked, the ITV book itself is now gone! I have been burgled three times and totally wiped out so it is likely that this book was in with some other information for some reason in my house rather than in the car. I now have no idea what to do as I need to use the car and am stuck. Does anyone else know what you are supposed to do in this situation?

Worry no more…You are not the first and wont be the last…

This came up a few days ago either on this or another forum. Basically all you need to do is make the usual arrangements for your ITV test and inform the desk on your arrival that the original documentation has been lost.

The original documentation was issued by the ITV authority and they have your records on file.  Subject to your vehicle passing the the test they test station will issue a replacement. Be advised that at some stations in addition to presenting the registration document they also need sight of you insurance document.

For information…all documentation relating to the vehicle should be present in the vehicle at all times, but you obviously didn’t need me to tell you that!
