Hi All!

I’m trying to make some decisions about where I’m going to live when i move out in August. I’ve looked at a few places and the ones that appeal to me most are all outside the city. What I’m worried about is if its possible to have a social life in these town or would I be better in the city centre. I’m 27 and moving on my own, dont want to be bored. Also would you recommend taking my car or relying on public transport I’ll be working in Espartinas.

Thanks

Fee

HI there,

I am moving to Seville on my own in August too. I have got a job just outside of Seville although I will probably be looking to live in Seville. I am 23 (soon to turn 24). If you would like to share tips or ideas on how the move is going it would be great to have someone to chat to about it all.

PM me if you would like to chat more.

Best of luck with your move.

Although I have not lived/worked in Seville before (I am more Costa del Sol/Malaga to Sotogrande end)... I do know from living near a larger town/city has its benefits.

I am sure I remember from my visits to Seville that places like Dos Hermanos have great train connections (although possibly not the best place in the world to live!)

I ‘think’ Los Osunas is not too far away? and is a thriving town. Very ‘Spanish’, so likely you will have limited choice on Ex Pat friends, but presuming you have worked that out by choosing Seville.

Just know that Seville is the ‘frying pan handle’ of that part of the world. I.e it is one of the hottest places in the summer. Hope you are woking/living in an air conditioned environment.  (I remember many of the shops shut in July/Aug and the city goes quiet as everyone has headed for the coast. There are also lots of great cafes/restaurants that make a point of advertising they have air con!)

If you do get any time off - head for a day to San Lucar de Baremeda, Jerez and Cadiz.  😊

Have a great time and let us know how you all get on. (Sounds like a mini exodus 😉

I bet it is.. I hear it might be tricky to find pool access in the centre though? Are their public pools for people living in the cnetre to use?

Not sure, I know where there is one with a removable top that they open up in summer. Most villages have their owm municiple pools. Our village only has 200 houses and has a 25m pool and a childs pool.

Thank you! The more friends I can get out there the better!

Does anyone know about public transport links? I want to live in the centre but need to commute to Sanluca la Mayor. I know I can;t keep my car in the centre because of the parking laws so I want to look for a flat somewhere near publich transport but I don’t understand the time tables!!! Advice please!!!!

There are trams in the city I am not sure how far out they go, it is a shame we are not a little closer, we could have rented you a room until you could have had a good look around,  then you wouldn’t make a mistake and rent where you don’t want to be!
