I have been trying to find some information regarding high-end beach real estate near Barcelona…

We are interested in being very close to a beach with decent kitesurfing, but with a large living space…preferably a penthouse or villa, price not really an issue. Can anyone give me advice on a quality area to live, right on or very near a kitesurfing beach? While we prefer to be in the city,  it is not an absolute requirement, perhaps less than a half-hour north or south would do.

If you know of a neighborhood, or better yet, a particular beach or building that offers what we are seeking, your help would be very much appreciated.

First place that comes to mind is Sitges. Lots of great real estate around there too, you’re about 30 min from BCN and it’s also got a lot of cosmopolitan life going on. There aren’t a lot of high-end beach towns near BCN.

Maybe you’d do better to look within the city itself, like the north end of Poble Nou perhaps.

Yeah, Sitges is a good place.
In the summer it’s a bit crowded, though. But the rest of the year is a good place to live.
It’s not far from Barcelona and it’s well-known for the Horror Film Festival and the Carnival!
You can spend some days in an apartment and if you like it, move there.
