The cuban certificate that says that I didn’t acquire the cuban nationality says my name is Oliver fortuny y castellano as it is written in in my spanish birth certificate which is wrong.I imagine I probably have to fork up another 60 bucks to the cuban consulate once I get it corrected.I hope they could make an exception. That’s another thing ,do I correct it at the registro civil in Benavente or the one in Pradillo?

if you were born in madrid city, then i suppose your birth was registered in pradillo. so yu have it corrected there once you have documents to support it, old passports, etc.

My U.S passport has my name written correctly with the “s” at the of my segundo apellido.

Tomorrow I am going to pass by Benavente and asked them what you are telling me as far how long everything takes and if it’s better to do it back in Miami or have it someone do it for me.

Also I am going to get another copy of my b/certificate but just in case where can I apply for my birth certificate online.

And thanks for quick responses

I went today .Apparently I need el partido de naciemento of my mother to make the name change. The original.I told my parents to please send me their cuban passports and my mothers certificate of birth in order to properly change my last name.It going to be sent through ups.looks like that might take a couple of days.I also went to the cuban consolate.I have to spend another 60 euros to get it fixed with the proper name once I do the the correct name change.I didn’t asked how long it will take to get my dni and passport but they did (spanish registro) told me once I get it fixed I could get it done in the spanish consulate in Miami if I run out of time here.

what still is not clear to me is how can I get empradronado without a DNI? or If I could do it from Miami, get empradronado.Or do I even have to? I guess I have to go again tomorrow.

also, out of curiosity why does it matter if my u.s passport says my name the correct away ? just wondering because you kept asking me about what is the name on my u.s passport.

the owner or the tenant of the flat can get you empadronado, using your usa passport.
however, if you are going to do it in miami, you do not need to get yourself empadronado, the consulate may require other documents.

what is your link to your birth certificate? your name. how do you prove your identity? your passport, id. in any case if the registro civil is willing to process the application without the correction tomorrow. you can just correct it once the decision is handed down and the nationality notation is stamped on the spanish birth certificate.  now as a spaniard, have it corrected and apply for a copy of this updated birth certificate, go the police station issuing passports and dni and you will get such documents in half an hour.

Hi,

hope everything worked out ok for you.

just curious, how long did it take to receive your Spanish birth certificate after you applied online through the ministry of justice website? I just submitted my application and I’m worried I won’t get it in time before the deadline :/

Any advice you have would be great,

thank you,

Amanda
