Hey guys,

I would like to know about collecting Spanish unemployment.  Anyway, my wife has been laid off and would be due to collect unemployment for 18 months.  We are thinking about leaving Spain and it would be great to get this money on the side.  So has anyone out there continued to collect once they have left?  Or can someone that is getting unemployment just let me know what they demand from you?  Do you have to check into the office every month, 3 months, etc.?  Thanks in advance for any help on this.

bdj108,
the unemployment subsidy is an aid for those living in spain and actively looking for a job.
you renew your b?squeda de empleo slip regularly to prove to the social sec that you are still here and still looking for a job.
if you fail to show up, it expires and so will your subsidy.
if you are offered a course or a job and you reject them, then your subsidy is also cancelled.
if you are not in spain, during the subsidy period, then the subsidy is forfeited.
