Hola!

That used to be all we could say in Spanish, but we have progressed…slightly.

We are Steve (the Englishman) and Jess (the Canadian), and we have lived here in very Southern Jaen province (near Alcala La Real) since November 2011.  Jess lived in England for 3 years before we both got tired of the rain and took a holiday in August 2011 with the intention of staying until we bought a house.

We started in Barcelona, rented a car, and travelled down the coast looking at around 50 properties until we found the right one.  We renovate and resell properties, and boy did we see some ruins when we were house hunting!  The finest example was the terrace house that was also a grow house complete with foil lined room, graffitti and several pots (yes, more than 3).  We have also seen our share of hideous tiles.  Who knew you could put tiles in so many places in a house?

We have brought our 5 dogs and 2 cats with us, and rescued another kitten from here, so we are a full house.

Thank you to the moderators for giving us a place to chat, and we look forward to talking to everyone soon.
