Howdy, everyone! first post here!

I came here to Spain to study a masters around 2010, I was done with it then studied some more, extended my NIE, the usual stuff. My passport expired around late 2011, so I had it renewed in the consulate here in Spain. I then left to Mexico (where I come from) to visit my family so the good fellas at airport migration stamped my way out.

I stayed in Mexico for about a a little less than a month, but I really despise that place, specially with the out of control violence that’s going on at the moment due the war on drugs, amongst many other things. So in January I came back to Spain, with only 15 days remaining of my NIE.

However on my way back, they did not ask for NIE or anything, they just stamped me back in, with just 20 or so day between my first stamp in my brand new passport.

So I’ve been here for almost 70 or so days. I’m working on my portfolio because I want to work here in Spain or elsewhere in the Union, but I don’t want to go back to Mexico.

I know the whole “go out a couple of days to Morocco and then come back” thing is a lie. So what can I do? I’m wondering why I didn’t have any problems on my way back to Spain from Mexico, even though I had an “out” stamp less than a month old in my brand new passport.

I really want to find a job either here or elsewhere in the union, no malicious intents, but I don’t want to go back to that war zone back home. I’ve been thinking about “losing” my passport and getting a new one as a fresh empty slate, when the time is needed, but I’m not exactly sure if that might be convenient.

Thanks a lot. Sorry if this was asked before, I suddenly freaked out and I’ve been searching all over the internet.

No. The expiration date was January 31, so it’s been two months since. I’m looking for a cheap masters course that will buy me at least one more year while I find something. I’m really desperate, I have a week left.

What do you expect to find? What do you mean by a week left? you could have taken a 2 or 3 language courses at the escuela oficial de idiomas for 119 euros each and renewed the student card.
