Hi this is my first time here, i know its an expat site but does anyone know how i can find out if my father has registerd me in spain so that i can claim my inhertance as he is not far from dying and its not the sort of thing i want to ask him at the moment. He did mention a few years ago about a spanish family register but the commuication/langauge barrier it was difficult to understand.

if you are his child then you should have a claim according to spanish laws.

well, you’d better start studying spanish.

Hi, yes I should have learnt spanish by now but I haven’t, they didn’t teach it in our school. I’m british and was born here in Epping

having been born in the uk, you can only find out if you were registered in the spanish civil registry at the spanish consulate.
