hi
dear expats
I have been contacted by a school in Logrono and I have got an offer for a job but it seems to be scam. they have referred me to an agent called Mr. Carlito Alejo to book my flights. in turn he asked me to pay for my flights and now I am supposed to contact a lawyer for my visa. but I feel there is something fishy here, do you have any ideas what I should do? I have already emailed the school but no answers. I called them but there was just an answering machine due to holidays probably. I called Madrid branches of Inlingua but they had no ideas either.
I searched for the manager’s facebook account and emailed him (Mr. Jean-Luc Achard) but no answers yet. so I feel very confused and desperate please give me any assistance you may

thanks

Dear Jurdy
thank you for all your kindness. the real institute has sent me an email and they denied any advertisement for jobs so the whole thing is a usurpation and scam.

I too was contacted by the school in Logrono, emailed a contract, sent the link for Mr. Carlito Alejo representing Air Iberia for my plane reservations, and also sent the link for visa processing through an immigration lawyer.  It all sounded too good to be true but due to the holidays, difficult to verify and get answers to my email inquries.  Finally, I googled Mr. Carlito Alejo and pulled up this site.  I’m so glad I found this site!!!

The best way to avoid scams is to meet employers in person. You can meet many employers from different parts of Spain at the annual TEFL Jobs Fair to be held in Cordoba on Saturday 18th May, 2013. The fair is sponsored by the National Federation of Private Language Schools in Spain so you know you’re on safe ground. More details on the website: http://www.spainwise.net.
