I am bringing my uk car over, have two burmese cats and wife does’nt want to put them on a plane. So any advice would be helpful kind regards 😊

Hi, You could come over and get the NIEs but you really need to be resident here with a perm. address for the new residence certificate - which is not quite as important as the NIE to start with anyway. As many previous posting about cars you dont want the problem of getting a UK car legal so dont plan to keep it for long! Your priorities are location and accommodation - and work depending upon your situation. Good luck.

HI thanks for the reply, my wifes mum/dad/sister live in Spain place called Empuria Brava on the north east coast. They have been over there now for around six years, we have been going over there for around ten years ourselfs. All i was thinking on doing was to get ni done so i could make car legal when i got there would later get rid? kind regards

You can download the NIE from

http://extranjeros.mtas.es/

click on

Modelos de Solicitudes

Then look down the list for EX-14 - its a PDF Adobe job which you can fill out on your computer. I expect your family living in Spain can help with the translations and an address.

The forum tends to agree that a Spanish car is much less hassle butas oyu have family with a lot of experience of Spain Iguess they can help you with everything.

I get the distinct impression from posts from other parts of Spain that rules vary region to region but yes here in Alicante region using a family address would be acceptable.
