Hi there,
We are coming to torrevieja next week and staying for five weeks.
The idea is to have a look around in different areas and make a decision if we want to move to Spain.
Are there any bars, restaurants etc where expats tend to meet so that maybe we could have a chat with people that have already made the move.
Thanks for any replies Maria

Yes good idea - do your research - but beware of ?the bar experts? who sometimes unintentionally mislead with facts about tax, NIE, residencia etc!

In any British bar you will find expats but try a few Spanish ones as well (you might find me!)

Have fun,

Around that area you might be hard pushed meeting Spanish…. its a very highly ex pat populated area….. a bit like the UK with sun really. Do yourself a favour and do travel around, there is so much more to the Costa Blanca ( at the risk of upsetting anyone who lives in that area).

I’d second the avoid the bar experts bits as well…. we got ‘valuable help’ off one idiot in a bar once, and it was all total tosh!  You’ll find a lot of people are only too happy to help, but perhaps not with your interests in mind.  But one idea is to find places that offer live music, so you get good entertainment in to the bargain.
