Hey-
I am planning on travelling for about 8 months. I will be leaving the Schengen countries, but would like to live in Barcelona for about 4 months. I do not have a job lined up and thus will not be able to get a work permit and do not think that I would be able to get a visa either. My concern is arriving in Madrid with a stay of 8 months and without a visa. What should I expect to face? Can I just tell them that I won’t be staying in Spain or the schengen states for that whole time? Will they allow me into the country? If I have a travel itinerary outside of the Schengen countries, will that be enough to let me go on? I know that if I want to stay in Barcelona for a longer period of time, that technically, I am suppossed to have a visa. I am not the first person with this plan and am looking for any advice to avoid any problems.
