My wife and I have started planing moving permanently to Spain from New Zealand (2011, sooner if everything goes perfectly to plan).

Having looked around for information, I am not having much success in finding out what the real IT marketplace is like in Spain.

Stuff like salary and actual “marketability” seems somewhat limited.

Are there any good, qualified, on line resources available?

I have also been self employed for well over 5 years now, and would like to know if it is feasible to still freelance in Spain as an IT professional with what will only be conversational Spanish.

Can you be more specific about the IT work that you’re interested in? There are a few members here that do web development/design.

Thanks for the prompt followup.

Focus is predominately in Solutions Architecture/Prototyping/Problem Solving, although I still do a lot of development work in C#/SQL Server as well.  15 Years experience, including team leader and management roles.

Something else has come to light that may make becoming a permanent resident easier - my mother and father were both born in Denmark, my mother keeping her citizenship.  (They are both deceased now, but I have access to passports and birth certificates)

I am however a New Zealand citizen, so don’t know if parent’s origin will have any impact.
