I also gave Telefonica in English 110 euro for a telephone line and 3 months later when they failed to do anything asked for a refund and Im still waiting although the refund was promised months ago.  Do not deal with this company, go direct to Telefonica

I was promised a refund within 10 days from the 12th may and heard nothing, I emailed a couple more times after the the 10 days was up, still nthing then 2 days ago I emailed and threatened them will solicitors and the police and today I have received my refund.

They stated in their last email they was unable to help me, as the infrastructure was not in place down my street, Which is utter crap as several of my Neighbours have telefonica lines.

I urge anyone not to let them get away with taken your money, keep pestering them, use as many forums as possible to expose them, and if needed threaten them with the authorites.

thanks for the whos is who , uesd it a lot

any look there site   To get the ball rolling, you need to apply for your telephone line by completing our application pages. It then usually takes upto 20 working days for a technician from Alca*** to contact you. (On some occassions customers receive a call from a technician that afternoon or the day after they placed their application.) The time it takes for a technician to contact you depends on how many applications they have in your area, how many technicians are available to install your line and how many ports are free in your central.

It then usually takes upto 20 working days for a technician from Alca*** to contact you now that 3 weeks 5 work days in a week

Administration charge 59 ? (One off charge) Installation Free of charge *
Then pay just 15,64 ?  per month for your line rental All prices are subject to IVA.
* Telefonica English can only guarantee free installation when an order is processed solely by us.

Cant remember off hand but I think the 110 euro charge comes from an additional charge for people wanting ADSL as part of the package. Dont quote me on that; I could be wrong…

This is there original email received 22/02/2008 4 weeks after originally ordering:-

Thank you for your application.

We will be debiting your bank account today for a one off administration charge of 68.44 Inc. IVA euros for your landline and 40.60 euros Inc. IVA for your adsl administration. (Please view Terms and Conditions.) Orders usually take approximately 10 to 20 working days provided that there is infrastructure and lines available in your area. If there are any problems with your order an operator will contact you.

The installation fee will only be debited once your line has been installed. (Which at this moment in time is free of charge.)

Thank you for your co-operation.

Good afternoon,

As you have heard nothing from a technician I will replace your order today and request for a new technician to get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Jurdy Just found the following on another forum while searching for something totally different:-

The web site you are referring to is not actually set up by Telefonica but by private enterprise “Victoria?s Call SL” of Benalmadena Costa who are acting as a sort of Agency.

Another site has the owner as one Antonio Machada.

Hope this helps

We just moved and I was tempted to go with telefonicainenglish but checked the prices against telefonica and telefonica was cheaper!!

So I phoned telefonica 1004 and kept saying IN ENGLISH every time there was a break in the talking and eventually was put through to an english speaking operator.  I told them when we would be moving in and did not expect them for at least a week but a chap came round before we had got rid of the moving people - lol.

Still waiting for the password to be able to connect hubby’s computer up but everything else seems OK.

ONLY 1 PROBLEM - DO NOT BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY TRY TO SELL YOU THE PACKAGE WHICH INCLUDES TV.  I refused it because I don’t speak spanish so it was no use to me - OH ITS IN ENGLISH THE OPERATOR SAID - THERE ARE 2 CHANNELS IN ENGLISH!!!  1 of which is Sport the other is News.  You can get the movies if they were originally filmed in English, if not they will be in the language they were made in!!

Fortunately the chap who came round to install the TV set up was English and explained this and did not set it up or get cross with us for his wasted visit!

But apart from the (please give me my password for the router number being ONLY in Spanish - so I have to hope that the letter will turn up or I can find someone who speaks Spanish and English so that I can ask them for the favour)  ording directly from telefonica was a great success!

(Still trying to learn Spanish but I think I forget more than I learn - old age is so wonderful…......)
