Hi there,
The new BT mobile service is contract only.. but pay as you go numbers can be transfered.
Contract is 6 months if you use your existing handset (we supply the new SIM card, but you can keep your existing number), or 18 months if you take up the offer of a free or subsidised new handset from us.
