Turns out we can’t do the long ferry down to Santander the week we want, so we have the long drive instead when we move!

Can anybody recommend / does any one know of, a reasonably-priced, pet-friendly B&B;, ideally somewhere near the French mediterranean border with Spain, that can also offer secure parking overnight?  If anybody has any suggestions for good places to break our journey we’d love to hear about them,

We travel regularly between the UK and Southern Spain and would suggest you have a look at this lot http://www.hotelbb.com they are cheap, clean and secure and have hotels all over France including many on the border. Over the years we have stayed in dozens of them and although they are basic the water is always hot and the bed and towels clean.
You can find them on the outskirts of all major towns in France and we stayed in one in Perpignan last week.
