Well I understand why UK opposed the idea of changing currency when the pound was stronger than the Euro. With current economic situation ... this could be a valid solution for lots of British people living abroad, who are loosing money with exchange rates ... Besides UK is buying lots of products from abroad and the strenght of Euro against other currency would also solve a lot of problems in that field ...

Would be good for us in Spain I imagine.

As an aside, whats the best way for us expats flying to the UK over christmas to convert euros to pounds? Exchange rates are poor in the UK so taking euros over doesnt seem worth it. Are ATM’s using Spanish bankcard the way to go? How do those exchange rates/charges compare? Anyone know?
