Cois Cladaigh is a mixed voice choir based in Galway and was founded in 1982. The name - Cois Cladaigh - is Irish and can be translated as “beside the Claddagh” which is a well-known area in Galway City. The choir specialises in European music from the late 15th and early 16th centuries and also performs a formidable repertoire of contemporary choral music, particularly from Ireland, but also from Scandinavia, Eastern European countries, and North America.

This 40 person mixed-voice choir specialises in
contemporary and renaissance choral music, and in particular European
music from the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Since its
foundation, Cois Cladaigh has travelled widely throughout Ireland and
has made a number of foreign tours, including Italy, France, Belgium,
Portugal, Holland, Boston, Spain, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland and
most recently to represent Ireland in a major choral extravaganza in
Essen, Germany which was the European City of Culture for 2010. In
2005 Cois Cladaigh travelled to Spain and performed concerts at
religious venues including Santa Maria del Pi Barcelona, Monasterio de
Montserrat, Colegiata Bas?lica de Santa Mar?a Manresa, Monestir
cistercenc de Santa Maria de Poblet and Iglesia Puerto Pasquero,
Hondarribia where we were the host of the renowned Basque composer;
Javier Busto. The choir’s tours have always been a great success due
to the blend of both European and Irish choral music. The choir has
some excellent musicians and traditional singers within the group.

El coro Cois Cladaigh se crea en 1982 en Galway, ciudad situada en la
costa oeste de Irlanda. Este coro mixto de 40 personas se especializa
en m?sica coral contempor?nea y del Renacimiento, en particular, en
m?sica europea de finales del siglo XV y principios del siglo XVI.
Desde su creaci?n, Cois Cladaigh ha recorrido toda Irlanda y ha hecho
numerosas giras en el extranjero, incluyendo Italia, Francia, B?lgica,
Portugal, Holanda, Boston (USA), Espa?a, Rep?blica Checa, Estonia y
Polonia. Recientemente, ha representado a Irlanda en un importante
festival coral en Essen (Alemania) cuando ?sta fue la Ciudad Europea
de la Cultura en 2010. Cois Cladaigh viaj? a Espa?a en 2005 y ofreci?
conciertos en iglesias y monasterios tales como Santa Mar?ia del Pi
Barcelona, Monasterio de Montserrat, Colegiata Bas?lica de Santa Mar?a
Manresa, Monestir cistercenc de Santa Maria de Poblet y la Iglesia
Puerto Pasquero, Hondarribia. donde ha invitado al famoso compositor
vasco Javier Busto. Las giras del coro han tenido siempre un gran
?xito debido a la fusi?n de la m?sica coral europea e irlandesa. El
coro cuenta con m?sicos excelentes y grandes cantantes tradicionales.
