I am trying to apply for Spanish citizenship but have had no luck finding my grandfather’s birth certificate! I know he was born in Asturias but none of my family members remember where exactly in Asturias and the Spanish embassy says they need this information to be able to locate the certificate.. I’ve already tried the electronic headquarters of the ministry of justice but nothing..
His full name: Federico Menendez Arguelles
mother’s name : Felisia (could be spelled differently)
father’s name: Celestino
birth date: January 11, 1911
birth place: Asturias
Any advice on how to find it would be greatly appreciated!! I wrote down the numbers of all the civil registries in Asturias so I was thinking of calling all of them to inquire if they have Federico’s certificate.. Do you think this is a good idea?
