Hi,

I received two speeding fines in 2011 near Barcelona which I paid promptly using the online payment option (100euro per ticket).

Three months after each fine I received an additional fine of 200 euro per ticket. This was because I had not notified the authorities that I was the driver of my own car at the time of the speeding. I had expected all information to be covered on the online payment process and assumed that because I was paying the fine it was apparent that I was the driver.

I have been told that if I pay the additional fines then I do not need to notify them separately that I was the driver because I have already paid the original fines!

So I am facing a total cost of 600 euro for two speeding fines.

Is there anyway I can challenge this?
