Hi,

So, I’m an US citizen married to a spanish woman and I need to go back to the US for a month or so.  Assuming that I need the autorizacion, my problem is that my paperwork is not “en tramite”.  We were married in January, and the earliest appointment I could get was in October to submit my paperwork.  My questions are:

1.  Do I even need the autorizacion, or will my libro de familia/marriage certificate suffice?
2.  If I do need it, will my appoitment to submit paperwork be enough?
3.  If I do need it, and can’t get it, what risks do I run just bringing the libro de familia and trying to get back in?

I did the last one when we went to England not too long ago, and was able to get through immigration (with some arguing and being scolded by the agent), but with the amount of money involved in tickets, this time is making me more nervous.  I think my mistake that time was showing my expired student card and not just my passport.

Anyone have any idea about these things?  Or have a recommendation for a good gestor in Madrid?

Thanks
