Hi, I have received a letter from The Correos to say a packethas arrived from the USA and is in Madrid and won’t be released until I pay the Import Duty.  The packet contains a dietary supplement and the value is E150.

Is it possible to go to my Local Correos to deal with this?

Many thanks:)

It should be possible - I bought a GPS over the net from USA (it was cheaper) and paid the customs locally then it was shipped to me. But if your local Correos is way out in the sticks then maybe debatable.Give it a try.

Many thanks Rob!  I’ll give it a go.  Sign of the Times, I guess, I’ve had 4 deliveries of this product and this is the first time I’ve been asked to pay the Duty:(

Yes I was a little surprised, it was a while ago but the cost was very small, but maybe rates have gone up now. You may have to consider a European based supplier in the future.

Good idea Rob,  I am going to write to the company now and suggest they supply out of Europe,  I won’t be ordering from the States again..  I don’t think it’ll be much but it’s a work up.  Unfortunately the product isn’t available here:(  Thanks again!

I thought I’d let you all know how I got on and it might help someone…

My Correos dosen’t deal with Custom payments so I faxed the Invoice over to Customs.

I received an email back to say that on my Purchase of E156,  they required E69 for IVA on the order plus their Costs, one of which was E10 for opening the box!

I transferred the money through my Bank and received an email this morning advising the package had been dispatched.  All in all a bit of a run around and more expensive than I thought:(
