Hello to all.

Here is my situation; I have been in Spain three weeks now. I am an american citizen with a Spanish girlfriend and I moved here to do a pareja de hecho with her. We have been extremely lucky to have been granted the pareja de hecho the same week we applied for it. We are now officially a pareja de hecho as of yesterday.

The problem I have now is where do I go from here? No one has really given us a straight answer on what I need to do next in order to have permission to work? Is the NIE the next step? We did the pareja de hecho in the province of Albacete, does that mean I must go to that province’s extranjer?a in order to apply for the NIE?

They are telling me I need to have 5-6000 euros in a bank account, and medical insurance in order to get a NIE.

Can anyone who has recently done the pareja de hecho perhaps give me some advice here?
